Fire doors
Fire doors are the most common item on an action list, and small faults stop them working: a closer that doesn’t pull the door shut, gaps that are too wide, or missing seals. See Fire Door Repairs & Maintenance for more detail.
Compliant products, properly fitted
Fire safety works only count if the right products are used. Hardware on fire doors must be fire-rated and marked for that use, and gaps are sealed with fire-rated foam, sealant or backing as the gap size requires. Using the wrong part can undermine a door’s rating, so I don’t cut corners on materials.
How a job runs
1. Send the action points
Send me the relevant section of your fire risk assessment, or a list of the works needed.
2. Quote
You get a written, fixed quote broken down by action point, so it’s clear what each item costs.
3. Complete the works
Works are carried out with compliant, fire-rated products, with access arranged around tenants.
4. Evidence
You get before and after photos of every item, listed against its action point, ready for your records.
How pricing works
Fire safety works are quoted as a fixed price, broken down by action point, so you know the cost before work starts. There’s no VAT to add.
